These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mochi Watch application ("Service"), operated by Mochi Watch ("we", "our", "us"). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service Description
Mochi Watch is a home monitoring assistant that integrates with your Ring devices through the Ring Appstore. The Service provides:
- SMS-based motion event alerts and summaries
- Conversational AI assistant for querying camera activity
- Daily activity digests and pattern analysis
- Customizable notification preferences per device
2. Account and Access
To use Mochi Watch, you must:
- Have an active Ring account with compatible Ring devices
- Install Mochi Watch through the Ring Appstore
- Complete the account linking process
- Provide a valid mobile phone number for SMS delivery
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and phone number. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
- Use the Service to monitor individuals without their knowledge or consent where required by law
- Share your account access with unauthorized third parties
- Send abusive, threatening, or harmful messages to the Mochi agent
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security features
4. SMS Messaging
By verifying your phone number, you consent to receive automated SMS messages from Mochi Watch, including:
- Motion event alerts
- Daily activity summaries
- Responses to your queries
- Service notifications
Message frequency varies based on your camera activity and notification settings. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to opt out of all SMS messages.
5. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Ring API availability or changes
- SMS carrier issues
- Unexpected technical problems
6. Limitations
Mochi Watch is an informational service and is not a substitute for professional security monitoring or emergency services. Specifically:
- We do not provide real-time emergency response or dispatch services
- We are not a licensed alarm monitoring company
- Alerts may be delayed due to network conditions or processing time
- AI-based classifications (person, vehicle, animal) may occasionally be inaccurate
- Always call 911 or your local emergency services for emergencies
7. Intellectual Property
The Mochi Watch service, including its design, agent personality, and branding, is our intellectual property. Your camera footage and personal data remain your property at all times.
8. Subscription and Billing
Mochi Watch subscription fees are handled through the Ring Billing System. Subscriptions are billed monthly. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Ring My Apps in the Ring app.
9. Termination
You may stop using Mochi Watch at any time by uninstalling it from Ring My Apps. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by Ring's platform policies.
Upon termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mochi Watch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to missed alerts, delayed notifications, or inaccurate event classifications.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes via SMS.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
