Mochi Watch ("we", "our", "us") operates as a home monitoring assistant available through the Ring Appstore. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Mochi Watch, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your email address and Ring account identifier, collected during the account linking process.
• Phone number: Your mobile phone number, provided voluntarily for SMS alert delivery.
• Device data: Names, online/offline status, and identifiers of Ring devices you grant us access to.
• Motion event data: Motion detection events from your Ring cameras, including timestamps, device names, and event classifications (person, vehicle, animal, other motion).
• Media: Video clips and image snapshots from motion events, accessed through the Ring API with your permission.
• Preferences: Notification settings, timezone, alert levels, and device cooldown preferences you configure.
• Conversation history: Messages you send to and receive from the Mochi agent via SMS, used to provide contextual responses.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Deliver motion event alerts and daily summaries via SMS
• Analyze camera activity to provide meaningful summaries and pattern detection
• Remember your preferences and conversation context for a personalized experience
• Improve the accuracy and relevance of our monitoring and alert system

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access tokens for your Ring account are stored encrypted and refreshed automatically.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be processed by:

• AWS services: For infrastructure, storage, and AI/ML processing (Amazon Bedrock, Rekognition).
• Ring API: To access your device data and event history with your authorization.
• SMS delivery providers: To send text messages to your verified phone number.

5. Data Retention

• Motion event records: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
• Video clips: Retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted.
• Image snapshots: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
• Conversation history and memory: Retained for 30 days of inactivity, then summarized and archived.
• Account data: Retained until you uninstall the app or request deletion.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent and unlink your Ring account at any time
• Opt out of SMS alerts by texting STOP

7. Data Deletion

To delete all your data, you can:

• Uninstall Mochi Watch from the Ring app (via Ring My Apps)
• Contact us at support@mochi.watch

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Mochi Watch is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via SMS or by posting a notice on our service.
